The Goldsborough Story

The Goldsborough Story

Goldsborough Financial Services was established in 1992 by Glenn Todman, Peter Johnston and John Oliver.

Glenn and Peter had previously been advisers with the Bennett Johnston group. We have been operating out of our offices at 120 Greenhill Road since we commenced business. In the early years, Goldsborough was licensed through Lumley Securities and in 1994 we applied for and successfully obtained our own license and were one of the few privately owned advisory groups in Adelaide.

With only two support staff at the time we began to slowly build our business and in 1997 Susie Vincent joined our group as a para-planner and has since transitioned to Chief Executive Officer. In the same year Barry Dixon also joined the firm as our Office Manager and stayed with us until he permanently retired in 2014. In 2000 Lachlan Harvey and Brenton Miegel joined the group as new advisers.

In 2005 Peter Johnston wanted to take on other challenges so we sourced a new equity partner in DKN Financial Services which allowed Peter to realise his equity in the business. This allowed Glenn and John to remain as major shareholders and for Susie, Brenton and Lachlan to also become shareholders.

Sam Martin, Will Chapman and Craig Kirkwood, Michelle Sanchez-McCallum and Matthew Kelly have also joined us as advisers in the last decade and we now have 17 people in our organisation managing over $600 million of investments on behalf of 2500 clients.

In recent years we as shareholders have gradually been buying back shares from DKN and in 2016 we succesfully "bought back the farm" completely to become a 100% privately owned advisory group again. We are very proud of where we are today and intend to keep building our business and servicing our clients to the best of our ability.

Over the years we are also proud to have been finalists three times in the Telstra Small Business Awards and a finalist in the IFA Awards for "Best Client Servicing Firm".
